Anonymous female recorded 07/12/2020

My guest this episode currently works in Television in Manchester as a freelance TV researcher. This is my youngest guest so far and we discuss the somewhat ordinary and also somewhat glamourous world of TV production as well as being furloughed – my first furloughed worker on the podcast! We discuss a bunch of my guests’ previous roles too, including some from her time in London – where she got to dance at the Olympic Games opening ceremony - as well as moving back up north and doing postgraduate study.

About the Podcast

Working Hours
The Story of A City at Work in the 2020s
What do you do?
Western Studios, Leeds presents Working Hours: a podcast series surveying the residents of Leeds on their thoughts and feelings on the topic of work. If you are in Leeds or from Leeds then help me to reach my target of interviewing 1000 Loiners over the 2020s asking them the 2nd question that everybody asks everybody. What do you do?
The purpose of the project is to create a depository of knowledge about labour and employment across this pivotal decade in the human story. Leeds, the largest city in the largest county on the UK mainland is a former imperial textile centre and is now a major UK financial centre. This series will document the city’s experiences through Brexit, creeping technological unemployment, new and ongoing resource wars, the ongoing removal of the welfare state and accelerating ecological emergency.
