Work Moves Towards Something
Lucy Moore recorded on 21/03/2024
Lucy Moore is a coin specialist, curator, Wikimedian, unpaid carer and all-round good egg! Originally from south Lincolnshire, she's been in Leeds since 2007 when she came to study at the University. She's worked a wide-range of jobs since she was 15, starting in a chip shop to save up her fees for uni, via hog-roasting and butchery, fieldwork, care work, call-centre work and shop work until she found herself in heritage-work.
Lucy is currently Associate Curator of Numismatic and Object Collections at the University of Leeds, but at the time of recording was fresh out of a contract as Wikimedian-in-Residence at the National Trust.
If she's not busy enough, she's also studying for a PhD in early medieval coinage at the University of York, and is a trustee of Carers Leeds, Leeds Civic Trust and the Royal Numismatic Society.
When she's not working or volunteering, she's at her allotment, outdoor swimming or playing cars with her godson.
