Neil Wilson is the Managing Partner at Chadwick Lawrence, a leading West Yorkshire based law firm recognised for its progressive approach and commitment to employee wellbeing.

Neil's journey into law began after completing his law degree (LLB) in 1996 and qualifying as a solicitor in 1998. Unlike many solicitors, Neil did not go straight down the legal route after school, opting instead to move to Germany to learn the language and study European Business Studies. He then moved to a government managerial position for 14 years, before changing careers to law aged 33 having studied for his law degree and postgraduate diploma part-time on evenings and weekends.

Since becoming Managing Partner in 2014, Neil has been overseeing 210 employees from eight offices across West Yorkshire, with an anticipated turnover of £16.2 million in 2024/25. Specialising in sports and employment law, he has established himself as a trusted advisor to many of the region's top organisations and sports clubs, including Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Town Football Club.

About the Podcast

Working Hours
The Story of Work in Leeds in the 2020s
What do you do?
Western Studios, Leeds presents Working Hours: a podcast series surveying the people of Leeds on their thoughts and feelings on the topic of work. I want to talk to my city about work. Why do we do it? Do we like it? What could we do differently? What will we? How does work change and how does it change us?
Leeds, the largest city in the largest county on the UK mainland, is a former imperial textile centre and is now a major UK financial centre. This series will document the city’s experiences through Lockdown, Brexit, creeping technological unemployment, new and continuing resource wars, the ongoing dismantling of the welfare state and our accelerating ecological emergency.
If you are in Leeds or from Leeds then help me to reach my target of interviewing 1000 Loiners over the 2020s. Let me ask you, what do you do?
